THE WINE CLUBRibbon Ridge AVA
Ribbon Ridge AVA
Newberg, Oregon
An ode to the walk of the flâneur, our Flanerie Vineyard spans eight acres across Ribbon Ridge AVA, in the Willamette Valley. First planted with pinot noir in 2003, we purchased some fruit in 2013 for our first vintage and later acquired the entire span of land in 2014, marking the onset of our story.
Facing due east, these vines are nourished by morning sun, but also shielded from afternoon rays. The sedimentary Willakenzie soil and glacial erratic stones that hail from Montana are the fortunate result of the Missoula Floods, over 15,000 years ago. Sitting at 250-350 ft., the warmer microclimate paired with this soil creates a spicy dark red fruit character for savory wines that are bold, like steady bass notes.
